Lady God’s Unbridled Shower Playlist

On Sex And the City’s episode “A Woman’s Right to Shoes”, Carrie, the main character creates a gift registry for her wedding to herself.  Finally, her friends would have a chance to shower her with gifts. And perhaps her friend would replace Carries’s shoes. The ones that were stolen after she asked all her bridal shower’s guest to remove their shoes.  Someone decided to “borrow” Carrie’s Manolos, without return. As my extenuated brain continues to process our class readings, these are the songs that pop up In my reflections to offer some distraction, and perhaps some insight.  I‘do say, like Carrie, Feminine Divine does not need a fiancée or a wedding to have her own Shower playlist. 1) F*cking Perefect - Pink “  Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood Miss "No way, it's all good", it didn't slow me down Mistaken, always second guessing, underestimated Look, I'm still around” AC, “Pink - Perfect (clean version)”, March 6, 2011, Video. 3:41,  http s://www.youtube....

*I and my My fear is that I am self-preoccupied. I'm an introvert by definition. Which means that most times I seek alone time to wrestle with thoughts, ideas, recall memories, create, interpret, and make connections.   Julia de Burgos is the Puerto Rican poet I quote at the top of this blog. Her famous poem A Julia de Burgos is just that, a conversation with the self she refuses to restrain.  She and I, we share that battlefield. These are a few verses from her famous poem A Julia de Burgos that help define me and  my work. Ya las gentes murmuran que yo soy tu enemiga porque dicen que en verso doy al mundo tu yo. People now murmur that I am your enemy For they claim that in verses I reveal your essence to the world. Tú eres fría muñeca de mentira social, y yo, viril destello de la humana verdad. You are the cold-blooded doll of social deceit, And I, the virile splendor of human truth. Tú eres solo la grave señora señorona; yo no; yo soy la vida, la fuerza, la...
